The events of the past week have caused me to pause and listen and learn. My biggest take away from all of this is that we need to be kind, tolerant and respectful of every person’s race, religion, culture and history. Especially with the “black lives matter” movement. Everyone has a story to tell. Each life is precious. There is a light in each of us, and we are all children of God. Respect each other. Learn about one another’s values and culture. Learn that we are all different but those differences make us unique and valuable. Be kind to everyone you encounter. Listen to what they have to say. That kindness can change one life and may have the power to create a ripple effect that can change the world. There are ample amounts of good in the world. Let’s focus on that. Be tolerant of an individual's beliefs and heritage. Recognize that your voice matters and that your words can be used for good or can be damaging. Choose the good. I said this in a previous blog and feel it needs to be said again, “It’s so important that we stop and recognize the value of every person on this earth. Each one of us has our own personal story, purpose, and individual worth. We have unique talents and abilities that cannot be replicated.” There is room for every single one of us. “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” (New Testament : Matthew 22:39) Be kind. Be tolerant. Be respectful. Spread Love.
